Marndarra Jadyi
Our logo draws inspiration from artwork by Joombarn-buru Native Title Holder, Rona Charles. Rona describes the painting as being centered around Mt Jowlaenga, a sacred place. The symbols within the artwork represent the surrounding hills, as well as people coming together to share culture, knowledge, food, and artefacts, while singing traditional songs and discussing ceremonies.
Encircling Mt Jowlaenga is Barngarrigun (Fraser River), which flows into Joombarn-buru Country, feeding its springs and billabongs. Branching from Barngarrigun is Barngarrigut Creek, the birthplace of Jarlibarny (Grandpa), which continues its journey toward Reeves Hill.
The logo reflects the deep connections between the land and its people, with Mt Jowlaenga and the hills serving as gathering places for cultural exchange. The ochre tones symbolize this sharing, representing the traditions passed down through ceremonies.
