Joombarn-buru Aboriginal Corporation (JBAC) is seeking a Heritage Coordinator to support the protection and care of culture across the Joombarn-buru determination area.
This is an on-Country role working alongside Traditional Owners, Elders and knowledge holders to ensure heritage is respected, protected and managed in a culturally appropriate way. The role supports JBAC’s responses under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 (WA), assists with heritage surveys and cultural monitoring, and contributes to ensuring decisions are informed by the right people for Country.
Working under the direction of the CEO, the Heritage Coordinator will coordinate heritage activities, support engagement processes, assist cultural monitors, and contribute to meeting statutory and funding requirements. The role also plays a key part in strengthening JBAC’s heritage systems, processes, and internal capability over time.
This role is about more than compliance. It is about supporting the protection of significant places, respecting cultural authority, and contributing to the long-term care of Country for future generations.
