Joombarn-buru Aboriginal Corporation (JBAC) is seeking a Heritage Manager to support the protection and care of culture across the Joombarn-buru determination area.
This is an on-Country leadership role that works alongside Traditional Owners, Elders and knowledge holders to ensure heritage is respected, protected and properly managed. The role coordinates JBAC’s responses under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 (WA), supports heritage surveys and cultural monitoring, and ensures that decisions reflect cultural authority and the voices of the right people for Country.
The Heritage Manager will strengthen JBAC’s heritage systems, guide culturally appropriate engagement processes, support cultural monitors, and ensure statutory and funding obligations are met in a way that aligns with JBAC’s values and governance.
This role is about more than compliance. It is about safeguarding significant places, upholding responsibility to Country, and building long-term cultural capacity for future generations.
